Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 26 2024 –Get ready to devour some seriously mouthwatering photography as Dubai’s diverse and fascinating street food scene is captured as part of the Food Focus Dubai Photography Competition, presented by the Dubai Food Festival (DFF) and Gulf Photo Plus, are revealed. In its annual second edition, this city-wide competition called on residents and visitors to capture the essence of Dubai’s bustling street food scene through captivating images.
An integral part of this year’s much-anticipated Dubai Food Festival, which kicked off on 19 April and will run until Sunday 12 May, the Food Focus Dubai Photography Competition encouraged professional and amateur photographers to explore and capture the dynamic array of restaurants and hidden gems across Dubai. An esteemed panel of judges, representing Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and Gulf Photo Plus, meticulously selected the best entries from 1000 + submissions – from sizzling shawarmas to bustling food markets, each depicting the essence of Dubai’s diverse culinary street-food landscape.
From a total prize pot of AED 25,000, the prestigious grand prize of AED 10,000 was awarded to Sajimon Sahadevan for his captivating portrayal of Dubai’s street food scene. Donell Gumiran clinched the AED 5,000 second-place prize, while Christopher Comeso secured the AED 3,000 third-place prize. Additionally, photographers ranked fourth to tenth were each honoured with AED 1,000 in recognition of their impressive contributions to the competition.
Residents and visitors can view the winning entries, along with numerous honourable mentions, in a curated exhibition at the vibrant e& Beach Canteen, running until 12 May as part of this year’s Dubai Food Festival.
