Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 12 June 2026: As Global Wellness Day approaches on 13th June, Velaa Private Island is turning the spotlight on the personalised meditation and mindfulness programmes at its dedicated Wellbeing Village – a reminder that at the Maldives’ most private island retreat, true wellbeing has always been deeply individual.
Set within the secluded Noonu Atoll, the ultra-private island retreat has developed a highly individualised wellness philosophy that moves beyond traditional, one-size-fits-all retreat formats. Described as a vast world of care unlike anything else in the Maldives, the Velaa Wellbeing Village brings together bespoke treatments, mindful movement and thoughtful nutrition within a setting designed for gentle, unhurried transformation. At its heart is Eveylaa, Velaa’s specialist wellness facility, blending Ayurvedic traditions with advanced medical diagnostics to create a fully personalised map of each guest’s wellbeing.
Within the Village, the mindfulness offering spans Dhyana guided meditation for mental clarity and focus, Pranayama breathwork for nervous system regulation, and Yoga Nidra for deep rest and sleep restoration – each session conducted in a serene overwater pavilion and adapted entirely to the individual rather than following a fixed schedule.
The programmes are overseen by resident Ayurvedic specialists Dr. Shylesh Subramanya and Dr. Peeyush Prasanna Kumar. Each guest journey begins with a personal medical assessment, establishing a bespoke path towards mental clarity, restoration, and long-term balance. Alongside the mindfulness disciplines, Eveylaa’s broader offering includes traditional Shirodhara warm-oil therapies, herbal steam rituals, medical blood analysis, food-intolerance profiling and sensory-deprivation floating therapy.
Personalised fitness sessions, including Pilates, functional training and aqua workouts in the open-air Yoga Pavilion, complement the experience, alongside plant-based nutrition at Faiy, the Village’s garden restaurant.
“True wellbeing should never feel standardised or transactional. Every guest arrives with different physical, mental and emotional needs, which is why personalisation sits at the centre of our philosophy,” says Dr. Shylesh Subramanya. “By combining meditation, breathwork and restorative therapies within a tailored wellness framework, we aim to create meaningful and lasting lifestyle shifts that continue well beyond the guest’s stay.”
